Who I am
CHROMATIC is the photography portfolio of Steph R, based in Brighton, United Kingdom. I am responsible for the personal information I use in connection with this portfolio and email enquiries.
For privacy questions or requests, email [email protected].
Email enquiries
If you email me, I receive your email address, any name you provide, your message and any attachments you choose to send. I use this information to answer you, understand your enquiry and keep track of our correspondence.
My lawful basis is my legitimate interest in responding to people who contact me about my work. Providing this information is voluntary, although I need a way to reply if you would like a response. I do not add enquiry contacts to a mailing list.
Portfolio photographs
This portfolio includes agreed portraits and candid photographs from events. A photograph may identify you through your appearance or its context. Captions and capture details may also include an event, location, date and time. I publish selected images to present my photographic work and document people, performance and communities.
Where publication is based on your consent, you can withdraw it by emailing me. Withdrawal does not change the lawfulness of use before it was withdrawn. For candid event photographs, I rely on legitimate interests in showing my documentary work, where those interests are not overridden by your rights. That requires consideration of the context, your reasonable expectations and any potential impact on your privacy; attending an event is not, by itself, consent to publication.
If you appear in an image and have a concern or would like it removed, email me with a link to the photograph and enough information to locate you in it. I will review your request, consider your circumstances and explain the outcome. The right to object is also explained below.
Website delivery and cookies
Cloudflare hosts and delivers this website. It may process technical request information, including your IP address, browser information and the pages requested, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. My legitimate interest is operating a reliable and secure portfolio.
I do not add advertising cookies, optional analytics or embedded social feeds to this site. Cloudflare may use necessary security cookies when its protection features require them. Its cookie documentation explains these cookies. The site has no accounts, enquiry forms or newsletter signup.
Sharing and international processing
Hosting and email service providers process information needed to deliver the website and handle correspondence. Photographs and captions published in this portfolio can be viewed worldwide. Information may also be disclosed where required by law. I do not sell your enquiry details or share them for advertising.
Service providers may process information outside the UK. Cloudflare explains its international processing and transfer safeguards in its privacy policy. You can contact me for information about the providers and any transfer arrangements relevant to your information, including how to obtain details of applicable safeguards.
How long information is kept
- Enquiries: for as long as needed to resolve the conversation and any reasonable follow-up, or to deal with an outstanding complaint or legal matter. Correspondence is reviewed and deleted when it is no longer needed.
- Portfolio photographs: while they remain relevant to my photographic work, subject to review and any applicable consent withdrawal, objection or removal request.
- Technical records: according to the hosting provider’s applicable security and retention arrangements, rather than a separate visitor database maintained by me.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law gives you rights to access your personal information, correct inaccuracies, request deletion or restriction, and receive certain information in a portable format. Where I rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time by emailing me.
You have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests, including the publication of an identifiable photograph. Contact me and explain your circumstances so I can consider your request.
To exercise your rights, email [email protected]. I may need proportionate information to confirm your identity and locate the relevant material. Rights are not absolute; I will explain if an applicable legal exception affects your request.
You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office through its complaints service. You do not need to contact me first to do so.
